5 Ways to Add Self Care in your Day

As a mom I am so darn busy all the time, and we spend so much of that time taking care of everyone around us, most of the time forgetting to take care of ourselves.  So I devised some ways to add self care into my routine….

  1. Drink More Water. 
    Drinking at least 8 glasses of water is becoming harder and harder these days, especially since the kids drink out of my water container and I lose track of how much water I have drank. I am doing a great job of adding lemon and lavender to my water to give it an extra burst of goodness so that I want to drink it.
  2. Do a Mini Workout
    I have been working with a personal trainer who has developed some great workouts that are tailor made for me. this means that not only do they fit in my life time wise, but they also target the areas of my body that I want to improve. I 100% believe in calling a professional to do the job when I don’t know how to get it done.
    Ross Training is online and affordable, She offers services to make sure that you are doing the exercise right, as well as when you should be doing it.
  3. Do my Face
    I have been a long time believer in waking up and putting on my makeup. Not that I always do a full face, but taking this time for me, even if I just feel like putting on a lotion, and some mascara and lipstick, I believe it makes me feel like I got the world.
  4. Bath Time
    I bath every darn night, much to my husband begging me to save the water. With achey joints, and sore muscles, it just relaxes me and puts me in a “go to bed” mood.  (I also eat ice cream in the bath sometimes, and watch netflix…. Go ahead and judge, You know it’s a good idea!)
  5. Night Time Reading / Bullet journaling
    I have had so many darn books building up on my night stand, and I was not making the time to read them. Now I make sure to read a chapter of something every night. Some nights I get more pages read, and others less, but I always read something. Same goes with bullet journaling, I had a really busy summer, and I didn’t focus on myself, but now with back to school… Time to focus on setting goals, and meeting them. Setting up my tomorrow always allows me to not be stressed when tomorrow arrives.
